A national NCD survey in Tanzania found that 47% of participants who were diagnosed to be hypertensive have never received advice from health practitioners on salt reduction (WHO Step survey, 2013) Limited initiatives have been so far implemented to understand salt intake behaviors, the determinants of such behaviors and promotion of healthy high salt intake-developing the salt reduction initiatives is thus proposed as it all begins with the political interest.
